Summer or winter, the woods, prairies, marshes and small towns of southwest Wisconsin you to enjoy the outdoors.  This corner of Wisconsin with it's pre-glacial landscape of rolling hills and valleys is a cyclist's paradise.  ATV and snowmobile drivers will find trails for a great ride.  Bring your golf clubs and take in a round or two at one of Southwest Wisconsin's elite golf courses.  Wisconsin is home to Trek Bicycle, the world's largest bicycle manufacturer and, as such, we have wonderful trails including Military Ridge Trail that's directly accessible from Mineral Point on the Shake Rag Trail.  Join over 1000 avid cyclists in Dairyland Dare, an annual cycling event through Iowa County in August .  You can go hiking almost right from the front door of Mineral Spring Guest House on Merry Christmas Mine Hill or swimming at the Mineral Point Municipal Pool in Soldier's Memorial Park down Shakerag Street.  Mineral Point has many parks to enjoy, too, including Water Tower Park, where we host our own Farmer's Market every Saturday in-season.  In addition, there are many Wisconsin State Parks not far away from the front door step of Mineral Spring Guest House, too.  Below are some links to get you started:

Hiking, Bicycling, ATV, Horseback & Snowmobile Riding

The Cheese Country Trail is a 47-mile multi-use trail that allows ATV's, horseback riding, snowmobiles and bikes as well as hiking.  Enjoy gorgeous scenery from Mineral Point to Monroe on this former rail bed with over 57 overpasses including a 440ft bridge that spans the Pecatonica River.  Users are urged to be cautious and courteous of the many trail users traveling at different speeds.
